FOUNDATION Krakow Film Foundation is the main organiser of Krakow Film Festival existing from 1961. The Foundation was officially registered on the July 3rd, 2003 and started its activity in December 2003.

PROJECTSKrakow Film FestivalKrakow Film Festival is one of the oldest film event dedicated to documentary, animated and short fiction films in Europe. Festival is accompanied by exhibitions, concerts, open air screenings and meetings with the filmmakers. Polish DocsPOLISH DOCS is a project launched in 2007 during Sunny Side of the Docs – is the common initiative of Polish Film Institute and Krakow Film Foundation. The main aim of the project is promotion of Polish documentary films abroad and assistance to the Polish filmmakers to present their films to the wide audience. Polish ShortsPOLISH SHORTS is a project launched by the Polish Film Institute and the Krakow Film Foundation, implemented by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute. It seeks to promote Polish short films (fiction, animation and documentary films) abroad. |
It was established in order to increase the possibilities on different fields related to film: besides the Krakow Film Festival,
the Foundation also organises other film events. The main goals of the Foundation are popularisation of the film and culture,
film education, promotion of high quality films both in Poland and abroad, assisting in the professional and artistic development
of filmmakers and the support of the artistically ambitious film projects. We are also deeply convinced that our practice in organising
one of the oldest and most renowned festivals dedicated to documentaries, shorts and animations allows us to carry out the project
in the best possible way, leading to a large number of interesting agreements and transactions, especially in regard to our long-term
co-operation with industry organisations, directors and producers in addition to our in-depth knowledge of the short and documentary film environment.
